Bus Travel
If you are traveling from Hue to Dong Hoi or Phong Nha, we recommend using Hung Thanh Bus Company at 49 Chu Van An, with a ticket price of 150,000 VND per person. Alternatively, you can take the Tan Nhat Bus, departing from 1A Hung Vuong (downtown Hue) at 7:00 AM, arriving in Phong Nha around 11:00 AM, with a ticket price of 250,000 VND per person. Another option is the DMZ Bus, departing at 2:00 PM from Hue, stopping at the Vinh Moc Tunnels and Ben Hai River. The ticket price is 500,000 VND, which includes transportation, entrance fees, and a local guide.
If you are traveling from Dong Hoi or Phong Nha to Hue, we recommend Hung Thanh Bus Company, which departs from Thanh Phat Hotel in Phong Nha or 165 Ly Thuong Kiet in Dong Hoi, at 150,000 VND per person. You also have the option of taking the Tan Nhat Bus, which departs from Phong Nha Tourism Center between 3:00 – 4:00 PM and arrives in Hue around 8:00 PM, with a ticket price of 250,000 VND per person. However, the schedule of this bus can be inconsistent. Another option is the DMZ Bus, which also stops at the Vinh Moc Tunnels and Ben Hai River, departing from Phong Nha at 6:00 AM.
Train Travel
Hue is just a short 3-hour train ride from Dong Hoi and is a popular destination for travelers. However, the late evening or early morning train connections are not very convenient, as they will have you arriving in Dong Hoi at either 1:00 AM or 4:30 AM, making it difficult to check in to a hotel. Therefore, we recommend the following trains from Hue to Dong Hoi:

Private Transfer
