Paradise Cave was discovered in 2005 by a local man, and in the same year, the first 5 km of the cave were surveyed by explorers from the British Cave Research Association. Later, the entire 31 km was explored and publicly announced.
With a length of 31 km, Paradise Cave not only surpasses Phong Nha Cave to become the longest cave in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, but it also boasts impressive dimensions, with a height of up to 100m and a width of 150m. The white crystal stalactites and stunning stalagmite formations inside the cave left the British cave explorers in awe, and they named it Paradise Cave, a name truly fitting for the cave’s breathtaking beauty. In 2012, a new species of scorpion, Vietbocap thienduongensis, was discovered here, adding to the cave’s unique appeal.
Regular visitors are allowed to explore the first 1000m of the cave along wooden walkways. However, for those seeking adventure, this special tour will take you deep into the cave, up to 7000m, offering a truly unforgettable and unique experience.

Itinerary
Daily Tour
06:50: Our driver will pick you up at your hotel in Dong Hoi City and transfer you to Paradise Cave, the longest dry cave in Asia, located in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park’s core zone. It is approximately 75 km from Dong Hoi, a journey of about 80 minutes.
OR
07:30: Our driver will pick you up at your hotel in Phong Nha village and transfer you to Paradise Cave, where your guide will provide safety instructions and cave equipment.
Upon arrival, you will take a golf cart (1.6 km) from the main gate through the jungle to the foot of the cave. From there, you will begin an incline hike to the cave entrance, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountainous landscape.
Inside the cave, you will explore the first 1000 meters along a wooden staircase and boardwalk. Here, you will see hundreds of colorful stalactites and stalagmites, which have formed over millions of years.
Following your enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, you will venture beyond the boardwalk, using your personal flashlight, to explore more than 6000 meters of the cave.
As you overcome the cliff path, you’ll be challenged in both courage and perseverance while discovering vibrant and uniquely shaped stalactites. The first 500 meters consists of a tube-shaped cave, over 80 meters high and 120 meters wide. Along the way, you’ll encounter tall, block-like stalactite formations that sparkle with a brilliant shine.
Further inside, the stalactites and stalagmites become increasingly diverse and unique. The rock formations display a variety of colors and shapes, as if sculpted by the hands of nature itself. The cave’s ecosystem is rich in biodiversity, including fish, bats, spiders, and crickets. In the first 3.5 km, you may even encounter hundreds of bats clinging to the ceiling. As you continue, you'll reach the junction of two shallow streams, where you can enjoy the cool breeze flowing from the spring. A rest stop will be made at the 4000m mark, where you can take photos and capture the beauty of this unique location.
After the break, you will continue your journey by kayaking across streams. At one point, you will need to crouch down to avoid touching the cave ceiling as you pass through a small section of the stream.
After finishing the small stream, the next part of the journey challenges your courage as you navigate a steep path and rugged terrain along the stream bed, where narrow paths wind through the cave. From here, the cave begins to resemble a labyrinth, and without a guide, it would be easy to get lost among the cylindrical stalactites.
After an hour, you will arrive at one of the most remarkable sections of the cave, known as the “Heaven Well.” In Eastern philosophy, this well symbolizes the harmony between heaven and earth, representing the natural connection of the cosmos. Experiencing this part of the cave is both mysterious and exciting. Between the streams, you’ll find smooth rocks shaped as if crafted by skilled artisans, with various shapes and colors that will mesmerize you.
After enjoying lunch beside the underground stream, take some time to relax, take photographs, and prepare for the return journey.
15:00: The tour concludes, and you will be transported back to Phong Nha at 16:00 and to Dong Hoi at 17:00.
