Description

The Dark Cave is an adventurous and action-packed experience. Visiting this cave includes harnessed zip-lining over a turquoise river, swimming into the mouth of the cave (life jackets included), walking through the dark with only the head torch on your mining helmet to illuminate the way, having a mud fight in the buoyant mud baths deep in the cave, washing clean with a swim in the lake inside the cave, then kayaking back across the river to test your strength on the hanging obstacle course and open zip-line. The Dark Cave is named as such because it is one of the few caves that has had no artificial lighting installed. The cave is comprised of mostly basalt, in addition to limestone. Basalt is a black, hard rock; also contributing to the cave’s name. With this rock surrounding you, you squish through the narrow and muddy passage using only your headlamps to illuminate your path. Paradise Cave is the longest dry cave in Asia (located in Phong Nha – Ke bang National Park’s core zone. With naturally primitive features, Paradise Cave looks like a landscape painting; making it a natural wonder that many have enjoyed since its opening in 2010. According to spelunkers (cave explorers), the deeper one journeys into the cave, the more one feels the wells of heavenly clarity all around. The cave height can reach to 72 m and up to 150 m wide. There are a series of white crystal stalactites (limestone deposits) resembling natural pillars and many other spectacular formations.

Itinerary

07:30 – 08:00
Our car and tour guide will pick up guests from hotels in Dong Hoi and transfer them to Paradise Cave, the longest dry cave in Asia, located within the core zone of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park. The drive is approximately 75 km and takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes.

08:30 – 09:00
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Phong Nha village and transfer you to Paradise Cave.

Upon arrival, you will take a golf cart ride (1.6 km) through the jungle to reach the cave entrance. The short climb to the cave offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

12:00
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant near Dark Cave, where you will be served a traditional Vietnamese dish. Vegetarian options are available. Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

14:00
Visit Dark Cave, located in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park. Engage in various adventure activities such as mud baths, zip-lining, swimming, kayaking, an adventure course, and caving.

16:30 – 17:00
Depart back to Dong Hoi or Phong Nha village. The tour concludes, and you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Important Notes:

• Please bring swimwear and a towel. Lockers for your belongings will be provided with a 50,000 VND deposit, which will be refunded when you return the locker key.

• Zip-lining is available for individuals weighing between 40-90 kg. No exceptions.
